The Local Line wants this website to be useful and welcoming to as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technologies or navigate the web in different ways.

My Approach

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.

Accessibility work includes:

• Organizing pages with clear headings and a logical reading order
• Adding alternative text to meaningful images
• Supporting keyboard navigation and visible focus indicators
• Reviewing text size, spacing, and color contrast
• Using descriptive links, labels, and form instructions
• Limiting unnecessary motion and providing controls where possible
• Reviewing the site at different screen sizes and zoom levels
• Checking new and updated pages for potential accessibility barriers

Accessibility is ongoing work. Technology changes, content moves, and sometimes something slips through. When a issue is found,all efforts will be made to correct it.

IN-PERSON ACCESS

The Local Line primarily works online and does not operate a public-facing office.

Accessibility can vary by venue for in-person gatherings, workshops, and LOCALS events. If you are planning to attend and would like to discuss an accommodation, contact The Line in advance so I can work with you and the venue.
